Dr John Carter

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (B.V.Sc (Hons) Melb 1975)

Dr John has been a Vet for over 30 years. Dr John was raised in Moonee Ponds, and was educated locally, winning a scholarship to Essendon Grammar. He was a keen swimmer at school, placing in state wide competitions and competing locally in the Essendon Swimming Club. Dr John graduated from Melbourne University with honours in 1975. He worked at Melbourne University as a research assistant and clinician followed by an appointment at the Bundoora Veterinary Clinic. He also worked as a flying vet for several years in the Northern Territory. Dr John then branched out into practice ownership, founding the Broadmeadows Vet Clinic in 1979.

After 15 years, Dr John sold this practice and started the Moonee Central Vet Clinic in 1998. John is highly experienced in small animal surgery, and has a special interest in orthopaedics and ultrasound. He has four grown-up children, most of whom have worked part-time at the clinic over the years. John and his wife Suzanne live on a farm out at Mickleham. When Dr John is not caring for patients, he enjoys gardening, farming and pilates. He is a practicing Christian.


Auriel

Veterinary Nurse

Auriel finished her Bachelor of Science with a major in Animal Health and Disease. In her spare time, she is often helping out at nearby animal shelters. Otherwise, you can find her at home with Rocky, Lady, and Mocha, her German Shepherd, Terrier, and Bengal. Besides being passionate about animal welfare, she also loves to dance and play games.
